15 października rozpoczęła się budowa nowej cerkwi pod wezwaniem świętego apostoła i ewangelisty Jana Teologa na osiedlu Bacieczki/TBS w Białymstoku. Pierwszy etap prac zakłada wykonanie wykopów oraz zalanie fundamentów powstającej świątyni.
W dniach 16-18 października w Supraślu odbyła się międzynarodowa konferencja Akademii Supraskiej „Architektura – Ikona – Śpiew”. W jej ramach odbyły się koncerty, wystawy, wykłady oraz panel dyskusyjny, wyjaśniający zależności zachodzące pomiędzy poszczególnymi elementami liturgii bizantyjskiej. Organizatorami przedsięwzięcia były: Fundacja OIKONOMOS, Akademia Supraska, Katedra Teologii Prawosławnej Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku.
W październiku młodzież z Bielska Podlaskiego oraz Brześcia w Białorusi rozpoczęła realizację wspólnego projektu „Questing – wyprawa odkrywców” (questing to metoda odkrywania dziedzictwa miejsca, polegająca na tworzeniu nieoznakowanych szlaków, którymi można wędrować, kierując się informacjami zawartymi w wierszowanych wskazówkach – questach). Jego istotą jest odnalezienie przez młodzież interesujących miejsc, postaci historycznych i przedstawienie ich w postaci tzw. questu. Projekt obejmuje wizytę młodzieży białoruskiej w Bielsku Podlaskim, a polskiej w Brześciu. W trakcie spotkań młodzież będzie miała możliwość zwiedzania miast, szkół, a przede wszystkim wspólnej pracy. Stworzone przez młodzież questy będą dostępne dla wszystkich, zarówno w formie drukowanej, jak i umieszczone na stronach internetowych szkół w wersji do pobrania. 17 października w Hajnówce rozpoczęła kolejna, szósta już, edycja koncertów z cyklu „Muzyka bez zastrzeżeń – Muzyka biez zaściaroh”, na których zespoły grają rockową muzykę w języku polskim i białoruskim. Na Scenie w Mozaikarni (w budynku Muzeum Białoruskiego) zagrały kapele: Ścina z Białorusi, 5SET5 z Iloną Karpiuk oraz punkowa formacja z Białowieży Dziki Raj. Organizatorem imprezy jest Muzeum i Ośrodek Kultury Białoruskiej w Hajnówce. Zrealizowano ją dzięki dotacji Ministra Administracji i Cyfryzacji, Urzędu Marszałkowskiego Województwa Podlaskiego w Białymstoku oraz Urzędu Miasta Hajnówka.
Kolejne przypadki afrykańskiego pomoru świń u dzików stwierdzono w gminie Gródek.
